Abstract

The Identity of Resources and Entity (IRE) ontology. This ontology represents the relation between the web resources and their content by means of the ProxyFor relation. Furthermore, it includes the concepts of Fragment of a web resource, SemanticWebResource, anchor, and Identifier. IRE is a semantic web contribution to the management of the identification of entities on the web. It distinguishes between a resource which is available on the web, its content, and the entity which is about. Moreover, IRE is built by composing and specializing reusable content ontology design patterns.
